Cross-Country
Congratulations to our place getters at our school cross-country. Also congratulations to all our children who gave it a go, ran hard and showed great resilience! All children who participated earned a house point and again it was so awesome to see so many families supporting our annual event.

Interschool Cross-Country
Yahoo! What a fantastic show of support from our families and visiting schools spectators at the annual Interschool Cross-Country.
All children ran hard and showed great resilience! All children should be proud of their efforts yesterday.
A big thank you to our Friends of School who did an outstanding job with the bbq and food stall. Great to see many helpers. As we were down a few staff, a big thank you to everybody who was able to help out with setting up and taking down the course, and or helping during the races. Also a big thank you to the Tahuna Golf Course and the Northern Club for using your wonderful grounds and facilities.
Northern Day and Netball Winter Festival
Super Sport Sunday for some of our Tahuna School children went well. At the Northern rugby day our children showed fantastic rippa rugby skills, team play and a solid defensive line. Keep up the great work kids! Our Friends of School sold lots of bbq sausages on the day and we thank our FOS for the work they do to fund resources for our school.
Our two netball teams represented us very well at the Winter Netball Festival with great play and enthusiasm. Thanks to all our coaches and families.
Life Education
We will have the Life Education bus at our school from June 16th to June the 20th. Endeavour’s focus will be on food and nutrition, Endurance and Maungaturoto will focus on social relationships, and Discovery will focus on identity and resilience. Harold the Giraffe will be here to entertain and support the learning for our children.
Matariki Week
Matariki Week starts the week of 20th June. Children will learn about the matariki story and why it is important to Maori. In their whanau groups (house groups) the children will do matariki activities like kite making, matariki 3D shapes, whai-string games, rakau and others. We look forward to another fantastic Matariki Week.
Teacher only Day
Our next TOD will be Monday the 27th June. School teaching staff are awarded 8 teacher only days as part of the Collective Agreement Accord for workload and or professional development. School will be closed.
Board
Our next board meeting is Thursday the 23rd June at 7pm (Subject to change). All welcome
