Newsletter Week 3, Term 3
Principal Comment
Tena koutou katoa,
We have had another great week of learning at Tahuna School and it makes me proud when children visit my office to share their fantastic work or show their ICARE values card.
I had the privilege of teaching Maungaturoto on Tuesday and I was impressed with their positive attitudes to learn and encouraging others. This was perfect timing as Encourage is our values focus for Term 3.
This week our teachers are introducing to the children our new writing goals that will support implementing consistent school-wide processes that support our children to be aware of their achievement & learning. I would like to thank our Deputy Principal Alana and our teachers for their commitment and collaboration on creating this learning tool to ensure our children can develop their understanding of where they are at in their writing and what writing skills they need to learn next. The learning tool was created by using the literacy progressions and the NZ Curriculum. We are also working on our new maths and reading goals. We are very much looking forward to sharing these with our children too.
